Heck, I rarely get a chance to read either, lol...

Cookbook Wednesday is a fun way to discover wish list books and like you say, go through the many books we already have. It should be interesting:) ~~louise~~https://www.blogger.com/profile/07335196139849995706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8696383493674768665.post-91739053789174123952016-04-07T07:43:20.155-04:002016-04-07T07:43:20.155-04:00I have everything by myself, but then again, I am ...I have everything by myself, but then again, I am a bit odd...Poppy Crockerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06511594971890413159noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8696383493674768665.post-90369191984798141252016-04-07T06:52:34.472-04:002016-04-07T06:52:34.472-04:00Heh, heh. I'll have to watch for her collaboration with James Beard because I don't have that. I just love books that let a bit of personality come through.

I'm so glad for the return of Cookbook Wednesday. I've been making just about every Wednesday a Cookbook Wednesday anyway. I don't have this book by Helen Evans Brown. I've been meaning to get it but alas, not yet. I like that she often includes a bite of historical background in some of her recipes.

You know, while reading this post, I had to keep reminding myself that she authored a book with James Beard back in the 50s. (that's 1950s, lol) I think it was The Complete Book of Outdoor Cookery. If memory serves me, it was because Beard enjoyed her West Coast Cookbook so much that he invited her to co-author the book with him. Evan Jones wrote about their first encounter in Epicurean Delight: The Life and Times of James Beard.

I think you have chosen some of her, should I say, questionable selections. Although, for the time, I'm pretty sure they were as popular as her restaurant, or almost, lol...

Thank you so much for once again joining us for Cookbook Wednesdays Poppy. It's going to be FUN!!! ~~louise~~https://www.blogger.com/profile/07335196139849995706noreply@blogger.com
