Funny Name: Strog-a-what-now?

What do you get when you cross a rich, sweet, and nutmeggy Christmas beverage with a ground meat?

Okay, I know stroganogg is just a misspelling of stroganoff, but the mental image of hamburger cooked in egg nog was too nasty to resist. Thanks to Centennial Cook Book (The University Women's Club of the Ohio State University, 1970) for making me do a spit-take.

  1. My first thought was egg nog burgers, too. Blech! Of course I don't even like the idea of egg nog french toast, way too sweet and disgusting.

    1. "Too sweet" has me thinking of Jell-O "salads" now, so I'm trying to imagine how a stroganogg salad would play out... Probably lemon Jell-O dissolved in egg nog enriched with sour cream, with chunks of cooked ground beef and noodles distributed throughout.
