I doubt the Morehead Woman's Club had drag queens in mind when they put together Our Ways with Food (undated, but from the early 1960s), but when I hear "Crabmeat Queens," all I can imagine is a drag troupe that primarily performs as entertainment during brunches.
And they perform to the song "dancing queen" with crabmeat dubbed over the word dancing.
ReplyDeleteWe're under another heat advisory here until at least Monday night, so hot dip doesn't sound too tempting. I do plan on braving the heat long enough to cook outside.
Yeah-- we have a heat advisory too. I used to go for early-morning walks on the trail when it was hot out so I could avoid overheating, but now that I have to walk my mostly sidewalk-free neighborhood, I've taken to walking later to avoid rush hour. Looks like this coming week I may have to rethink whether I'm more afraid of overheating or of getting run over. (I'm thinking it would be worse to die of heat stroke...)
