Funny Name: The Fat Shrimpy Sings
The title of this recipe from 4-H Local and Ethnic Food Show 1983 (Aiea, Pearl City, Weipahu, Wahiawa, and Honolulu 4-H clubs) makes me think of a pair of jumbo shrimp singing love songs to each other:

4-H recipes we were familiar with needed all the help they could get with fun names because the stuff you were actually making was so dismal. Lemon herb chicken sounds nice, rubbery, underdone, microwaved chicken breasts may have been a better name for the recipe, but fewer people would have been dumb enough to make it.
ReplyDeleteFried wontons are usually pretty awesome, though. These are probably good if you like shrimp and pork.
